About Aubrey

I’m a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Chemistry (MChem). My teaching journey has been deeply rooted in helping students understand the chemistry of the world around us—especially our atmosphere. I specialise in atmospheric chemistry and environmental pollution, areas that are not only scientifically fascinating but also crucial to our planet’s future. Over the years, I’ve guided students through challenging topics like smog formation, ozone depletion, acid rain, and the greenhouse effect. I break down complex reactions and environmental processes into simple, clear explanations. My approach balances theory with real-world applications, making learning both effective and engaging. I’ve worked extensively with environmental science students and those passionate about air quality, sustainability, and climate policy. Whether it’s understanding the role of CFCs in ozone breakdown or analysing the chemistry of acid rain, I make sure each concept is fully understood. I encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and connection between chemical principles and global issues. My sessions are interactive and tailored to each student’s goals and pace. I also prepare students for exams, research projects, and academic discussions with confidence. For me, teaching chemistry is more than just equations—it’s about inspiring action through knowledge. There’s real joy in understanding the chemistry of our atmosphere and using that knowledge to help protect it.

My teaching approach in Chemistry is clear, structured, and focused on results. I guide students through complex topics like atomic structure, thermodynamics, kinetics, electrochemistry, equilibrium, and organic reactions with simple explanations. I also cover biochemistry and environmental chemistry, which are essential for AP Chemistry test prep. For each topic, I use a mix of theoretical breakdowns, real-life examples, and experimental analysis to make learning deeper and more meaningful. I believe students learn best when they understand the "why" behind the concept—not just how to solve the question. I provide targeted drills, timed practice tests, and problem-solving strategies to build both accuracy and speed. We focus on mastering data interpretation, lab-based questions, and free-response problems step by step. I also help students handle tricky concepts like reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, and equilibrium constants with confidence. My sessions include frequent reviews and checkpoints to track progress and stay exam-ready. With experience as an epidemiologist and teacher/mentor, I bring insight from both science and education. My goal is to prepare students not just for high scores, but for true understanding. I encourage questions, support active thinking, and create a learning space where students feel confident. Together, we'll build your skills and boost your performance for exam day success.
