About Christopher

I am a medical clinical research professional and privately tutor from college prep exams (SAT) to University level pre-med subjects. As I have an undergraduate Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) degree in Biomedical Sciences
I am well equipped to teach and tutor a broad array of subjects, like Anatomy, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Genetics, Physics, Physiology, Psychology and Neuroscience. I also can tutor at the graduate level as I have a Master's in Advanced Bio-statistics and Epidemiology. I make sure to prepare all of my learning materials on an individualized level that caters best to each students style of learning.

About the lesson

Phase 1: At outset I focus on the student as a person, their interests as they are related to their strengths in any given subject topic. By gaining insight into the students’ fundamental understandings of concepts within a subject topic gradually the "How? and Why?" for both the ease and struggle found by the student as related to that subject topic becomes more apparent. Lastly, while I assess study habits, the student and I set up a roadmap of goals both near and in the future. This allows me to structure each tutoring session on an individualized level where the needs of each student are measured, their progress is monitored , and achieved goals tracked and rewarded.
Phase 2: After a sound and sturdy basis of understanding within the core concepts are solidified I then focus on building upon these understandings at the pace of the student. I provide personally meaningful and thought provoking examples presented in the form of mnemonics, riddles or tales that meet real-life problem-solving scenarios. Over the years I have noticed that the more relational, realistically truthful and humorous a subject topic example or illustration is the more unforgettable they become.
Phase 3: Here Phase 1 and 2 run in parallel. While having the student and myself regularly track the progress of previously set goals of subject topic understanding. Areas that have progressed and those of which need additional or more diverse tools, encouragement and practice will be addressed. Regimented concentration of subject's studied are predicated on performance.
Phase 4: With 'Differing correctness' I teach students of the different relationships that exist between the deeper components of topics and subjects that together define a field of study. Helping students better understand these subtle relationships theoretically and practically allows students to use multiple pathways to conceptualize problems prompting creative and critical thinking. Taking different passage ways to solving a problem bolsters creative approaches of perception which then helps transform the abstract whole into is fundamental lament components. Decouple, recouple and then repeat.

All phases strongly recommend repetition, review, and perspective. Practice is key.
