Amanda is an amazing professor, tutor, and writing coach. I had the pleasure to work with her at Seattle Pacific University and watch her interact with students in individual and group settings. Her calm, caring, and professional manner set students at their ease, while her writing know how gave support and agency to students as they developed their writing skills.

Professor Keithley was my writing professor for my first quarter at Seattle Pacific University this academic year, and she was incredibly kind and relational. Before taking her class, my relationship with writing was not very positive - I would often feel overwhelmed and struggle to get my thoughts on paper. Throughout the course, however, she was extremely generous with her time, meeting with me to discuss my papers and the ideas that I had. Each time we met, I left deeply encouraged and genuinely excited to improve my writing. Rather than simply pointing out what needed to be fixed and sending me away, she consistently highlighted what I was doing well and collaborated with me to make changes that would strengthen my work. Because of this, a renewed confidence was instilled in me and I started to believe that I was capable of writing in ways that I never thought was possible for me. I learned many practices that continue to influence my writing today. I am truly grateful for her patience and the unique gift she has for inspiring others to love writing and strive for excellence.

Amanda taught writing at the college where I am a librarian. She was fully committed to the success of each and every one of her students. She also worked as a tutor in the writing center that I helped supervise. She put the students at ease, listened carefully to their concerns, and offered helpful strategies. Amanda really cares about her students and finds the best ways to reach them according to their individual needs.
