About Angela

I enjoy sharing my knowledge of chemistry with students and seeing their confidence increase. My years of experience teaching students of all abilities enable me to adjust sessions for maximum benefit. This leads to greater motivation, a reduction in stress, and a more positive attitude to the subject.

About the lesson

VCE chemistry is not an easy subject. Students can easily fall behind, struggle with understanding, or fail to recognize the detail expected at this level. I can help by providing clear teaching using the preferred learning style of the student and by being available to answer questions between sessions. Summaries, model answers, and extra questions are available when needed. One-on-one sessions allow students the freedom to ask questions without embarrassment. Each year I meet students who sheepishly admit that they did not focus much in year 11, so I can help them fill in the missing information. Reduction of stress will allow students to concentrate more on thinking about the topics studied, and thus achieve their maximum potential. All one-on-one sessions are online using Zoom.

Angela was my chemistry tutor for 2 years during Year 11 and Year 12 and helped me navigate through VCE Chemistry in the most effective way. She is very understanding and caters to your study methods as an individual, helping you grasp difficult concepts in various ways (whether that be through ball and stick models/ flow charts/ flash cards/ tables and extra questions. Angela will give you the most effective feedback while still being very kind and understanding. If you are stuck with anything, flick her an email (at an appropriate time) and she will reply back to you as soon as possible, helping you continue your study flow. Angela is very adaptive to any changes in the school curriculum (especially when the VCE study design suddenly changed in 2020 due to the pandemic) and will help you to truly enjoy chemistry. If anyone is looking for a chemistry tutor, Angela is the person to go to! Nobody can replace Angela and her tutoring style.

I learnt from her for VCE Chemistry in Years 11 and 12, and couldn’t have navigated my way through a demanding subject like Chem without Angela. She explains concepts very thoroughly and makes sure you understand, rather than just memorising the concepts which is crucial when studying Chemistry. While she is a very kind person, she is also firm and gives constructive feedback when it comes to exam tips, study methods and ways to answer a question that will ensure you get full marks. Not only is she detailed, supportive and well versed in the syllabus, she also teaches so that you want to learn more and are looking forward to studying the subject, which is very important in Year 11/12. As mentioned before, I strongly recommend Angela as your Chemistry tutor and am sure you will not regret studying with her!!
