About Matteo

My approach to tutoring is student-led, supportive, and designed to challenge you to become a more confident and capable architect or engineer. Our sessions will be guided by you. Whether you need to master a topic for an exam, develop a concept for a design project, or work through complex coursework, your objectives will shape our focus. I believe the best learning happens in an encouraging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions. My role is to provide clear explanations and constructive feedback, helping you build a robust understanding of core principles and the confidence to solve problems independently. Beyond helping you achieve your grades, I aim to challenge you to think more deeply. We will explore the "why" behind the formulas, critique design choices, and discuss how to integrate regenerative design into your work. The goal is not just to find the right answers, but to develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for a successful career.

About the lesson

As a practising Senior Structural Engineer and experienced University Lecturer, I offer expert tutoring for students of civil, structural, and architectural engineering. My approach is uniquely shaped by my dual experience in both professional practice and academia. In our sessions, we will move beyond the curriculum to focus on the core engineering principles that underpin all great design. I use real-world examples from my diverse project portfolio, from sensitive refurbishments of historic buildings to the design of complex new steel frames, to bridge the gap between theory and on-site application. Together, we will develop your critical thinking and essential skills in both sustainable and regenerative design, giving you the confidence and deep understanding needed to excel in your degree.
