About Elena

I’m a third-year Neurobiology student at UC San Diego with extensive experience tutoring K–12 students in reading, math, chemistry, and biology. I’m passionate about helping students grow academically and build confidence. Key qualifications and experience: - Tutored math, chemistry, and biology to fellow students throughout high school and my gap year - Top scores in AP Calculus BC and AP Biology - Two years tutoring students ages 6–12 below grade-level expectations in reading - Collaborative approach working closely with both students and parents Outside of academics, I work in a neuroscience lab studying the efficacy of hallucinogens in treating schizophrenia. I also play violin, train for triathlons, and am currently teaching myself Japanese. I’d love to learn about your goals and discuss how I can support your learning journey. About the lesson

I tailor each lesson to the student’s unique strengths, needs, and learning style. Together, we will: 1. Identify areas of difficulty and skill gaps 2. Set clear short- and long-term goals 3. Develop a structured plan to guide each session and track progress Lessons may include homework help, reviewing challenging topics, reinforcing fundamentals, or exploring new concepts for deeper understanding. I’m committed to meeting you where you are and supporting your goals every step of the way. For Parents I truly enjoy working with students of all ages and appreciate the academic, social, and emotional challenges at every stage of childhood development. Every age is unique, I believe a strong support system is essential for growth. I’d be honored to be part of the “village” supporting your child’s education, working closely with both you and your student to foster confidence and success. For Teens I used to be you, I get it. School can be tough and tutoring may seem intimidating. I promise to keep it straightforward and supportive. I’m here to help, not judge. We’ll work together at a pace and style that suits you best. All I need from you is to share your goals and put in some work. Remember: no goal is too big! I’m excited to help you succeed.
