About Mani

I am currently an Accounting, Economics and Finance Student. I plan to help students with their GCSEs in Maths, Biology and Chemistry which I performed very well in (7, A* and A). I have previous experience being a student mentor helping students prepare for their GCSEs, I have volunteered to help tutor younger children receiving a certificate for this, I have work experience being a teacher's assistant at St. Pauls C of E primary school and I occasionally help tutor my neighbours' kids.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is to break each topic into approachable key sections. In each section, first I will cover the context and then practice questions are a must to ensure that the student has grasped the concept which we have learnt. Only after a good understanding is shown, we will move onto the next section. Also revisiting this section later on is important as the student will need to actively recall the information learnt and this will test whether they learnt the material well or not. This is a skill which will ensure they are prepared for their exams.

I had a good session with Hajar. We went through Refraction, Endo and Exothermic reactions and Chemical Formulae. She performed really well at endo and exothermic reactions, but struggled with chemical equations. I will cover this further on our next science lesson. Hajar is good at remembering formulas but often rushes to answer questions, without taking the time to read it properly. To improve she should take time to understand what the question is asking.
