About Nicole

Are you looking for a community that is comfortable? Beloved: a yoga practice is a sweet studio that offers a variety of yoga classes as well as other holistic services. Our belief is “yoga is for any body”; our styles include: Kripalu, Yin, Hatha, and slow flow Vinyasa - all levels are welcome. Monthly - a group of Reiki practitioners of all levels meet for Reiki Support and Share on the first Thursday of the month; on the second Thursday there is Journey Group with Shamanic practitioner Katharine Rossi of Fireseed Center for Transformation; on the third Thursday (unless otherwise specified) Kerri Sloat joins us to offer Meridians, Mediation and Reiki; and on the fourth Thursday of the month Mara Prentice, DC leads the Jin Shin Jyutsu (a Japanese harmonizing art) Self-Care class. Shamanic Drum Healing, Specialized Meditations, and Yin Retreats are offered as well as many other specialties that vary from month to month.

I am blessed that Beloved will be making it's 5 year Anniversary in Februrary of 2019! In that 5 years the community that has been built has brought me the most joy. I am able to co-create with other holistic practioners to bring a variety of meaningful programs to the Beloved community and this is not only what sets Beloved apart from being just a yoga studio it is what keeps vitality in our practice.

I have received my 200hr. yoga certification and my 30hr. Yin yoga certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Ayuveda. I also have my certificate in Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese harmonizing art).

About the lesson

My belief is that yoga is for everybody; being "plus size" myself I am a testament to that. First, I listen to what the student's expectations and concerns are. I then might suggest a one to one lesson, however, most students join a group class due to our style of building the pose from the ground up.

I advise that a student try a class with an instructor more than once. Yoga is a very personal practice and you are receiveing a lot of information in your first class: the room itself, the time of day, and the instructor. Each instructor comes with their own experience and their own practice, so taking an instructor's class a few times will give you a true idea if that instructor is right for you. Be open to the trying a few different types of yoga. And remember we are all human, an off day is bound to happen.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A yoga instructor is not a doctor however, they should be aware if you have any medical issues. High blood pressure for example can be affected by certain yoga poses. Your instructor should know of any joint replacements and any surgeries within the last six months.
