About Leah
Leah first took an interest in yoga when she was 8 years old and visited a local class at the YMCA with her grandma. As a little girl she was fascinated with the more complicated postures and acrobatics of the practice. As she got older, she was a part of the yoga club in high school where she learned the history and meaning behind the practice. Inspired by this history and the positive effects of yoga on stress, she and her best friend visited their local gym every week to take classes together. As they explored their breath and inner selves, Leah realized the power of yoga on her increasing self-confidence and relationships with family and friends. After graduating high school, she veered off of her yoga path and decided to pursue a career in country music. The stress and pressure of the industry quickly came down on her. In desperate need of soul-searching and a sacred space, she found yoga again. She was inspired by her teacher's lifestyles and the impact of their teaching on others. She quickly began to develop a home practice and study of yoga, and decided to become RYT certified herself. Through her recent training at Asheville Yoga Center, she has blossomed into a well-spoken, enthusiastic teacher who is excited by her students personal break throughs. Through her yogic lifestyle and vast areas of training, she provides comfort, support, and challenge to all of her students.
