About Johnny

I am a lifelong student and teacher, and so understand the challenges that can arise when learning a new language, especially one as unique as Japanese.

I have traveled to 80+ countries, learned over 6 languages and lived in 6 countries (Ireland, Japan, France, USA, UK, Thailand). I enjoy connecting with people from all over the world, expanding myself through exposure to diverse cultures and experiences.

Teaching languages is a passion of mine, as I know many people struggle with limiting beliefs around their abilities to learn a second language.

In my free time I like to do yoga, meditate, dance, play music and write. I also work as an actor and writer, as well as a tutor and translator.

About the lesson

I have been teaching students of all ages and adapt my lessons to the needs and interests of the students.

I like to engage all types of learning styles, with a lot of focus on practical and useful content.

Using interactive media and games keep my lessons interesting, and allow students to practice using the language in a variety of situations.

I prefer a relaxed style, as learning works best when students feel comfortable, with that in mind, each lesson should challenge and excite the learner, so expect to be engaged throughout.

If students have an interest in the culture, then I will utilise media to support and make the lessons as practical and enjoyable as possible.
