About Tijana
I am an experienced teacher and tutor, with full Montessori training (AMI) in addition. I studied a masters of teaching and bachelor degrees in art history and psychology. I am empathetic and understanding, as well as curious, open, and passionate about helping people truly understand what they are learning!
I am interested in the world and curious about everything.
I have always loved English and writing, but can also tutor in other subjects, at both primary and high school levels: Maths, Biology, Economics, and study skills. I have also worked at Lindamood-Bell, an intensive literacy and maths program.

Hello! I am an experienced teacher and tutor. I have degrees in psychology and art history, am fully Montessori trained for primary education and have a masters in teaching. I love learning, am curious, patient, friendly and committed to what I do.
My teaching methodology is focused around the idea that learning is constructed through experience, and that effective learning requires understanding. This means that the learner needs to be actively engaged in the process of making sense of information. At school, content is already being taught in a particular way, and I believe tutoring needs to go at learning in a different way in order to maximise understanding.
I approach elementary and secondary tutoring in different ways. I always like to focus on the whole child. If we are calm, we learn better. If we find a way to be interested in what we are learning, we can understand. To me, education is not about memorising, it's about helping children to know themselves and make the world accessible to, and part of, them.
