About Fatimah

My name is Fatimah and I'm a graduate with honours in Combined Studies (Mathematics with Education). I have previously taught Mathematics in two schools and have worked in a tutoring centre for a couple of years. Lately I have been working as a self employed tutor teaching Mathematics to pupils aged between 5 and 16.

Mathematics is my passion and I share this with others by building their confidence, increasing their potential and helping them achieve what was previously impossible. With a bit of hard work and some commitment, I believe this could be you/your child.

My first lesson is usually an assessment in order to determine what level the pupil is working at. This also helps me to identify strengths and weaknesses so that I can plan lessons accordingly. I use resources which I have made myself and adapt for my pupils, usually setting goals at the beginning of the lesson with minimum, satisfactory and excellent targets which helps pupils monitor their progress.

I try to make my lessons as engaging and interactive as possible, sometimes including games. I like to cement the foundations of Mathematics with my younger pupils (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), work through practice questions with my GCSE pupils (sequences, bearings, inequalities, surds, completing the square, etc.) and everything in between for everyone else.
