About Emma

As a musician who has studied since the age of eight, I want to empower children as well as adults, to acheive their musical dreams. At times in our life, we all struggle to keep the momentum going. I want to instill a passion and joy for music that allows every student to be proud of their accomplishments.

My experience includes teaching individualized lessons for 2 years. I also have a history in Early Childhood Education and love to teach children as young as 4 years of age.

I have competed in Piano Competitions, as well as previously played in SLO Youth Symphony. My musical abilities include playing high-level Classical Piano. In addition, I also teach violin and viola.

I learned I was good with kids just as I was starting out college. I decided to switch my major to Early Childhood Education. I gained experience in the classroom, specifically Head Start Preschool. Although I was good with children, working in large groups was not my forte, so I decided to pursue private teaching.

I have taught music lessons for 2 years. I have studied Early Childhood Education which taught me how to see and teach each child based on their individuality. I believe this is a great skillset to have when teaching private music lessons.

About the lesson

By nature, I am a detail oriented teacher. It all depends on the level of the student and if they have previous music experience or not. I typically want to connect with the student to build repore, as well as ask questions to get an idea of how they learn best.

I have worked with students as young as 2, to adults who are just beginning their musical journey! I have epxerience working with children who have autism or ADHD as well.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Knowing what you want to accomplish short term (1 year) as well as long term (3-4 years) is super important. As a teacher, a student who knows where they want to go and what they want to learn, helps me set them up for success.

Details

Lessons are paid by the 1st of the month of lessons. Prices will vary depending on location (if you come to me, or if I come to you).

The price you pay at the beginning of each month remains the same, even if the month has 5 weeks.

On average 30 min lessons will be roughly $40, 45 min lessons $50, and hour long lessons $60.
