About Erica
I have a masters of music degree in violin performance from the Juilliard School as well as a Suzuki certification of books 1-10. I also have extensive experience teaching beginners up to an advanced level.
I love setting goals for each individual student depending on their vision and trajectory and help them meet those goals. I've been teaching privately for nine years and I have extensive experience with all different ages and levels. I taught at Juilliard pre-college, New England Conservatory pre-college, and currently am a teaching fellow at Yale University.
I first started teaching and gaining a wealth of experience when I was at the Cleveland Institute of Music in the Suzuki Program. As I was working towards my certification, I helped in lessons and with group classes.

My process is different depending on the level of the student and age. With younger students I have a tried and true system of repertoire and exercises that sets them up for excellent technique, reading skills, and musicality. For older students I like to first find out what goals they have so that I can apply that during their journey with the violin.
Experience with beginners ages 4 and up
intermediate level students of all ages
advanced level students of all ages

Erica is a wonderful violinist and teacher. She is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and has been so helpful to my son. The improvement I’ve seen in his violin playing in just a short time studying with Erica has been very impressive. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.
I was nervous to choose a teacher for my daughter as she was a beginner, but from the first lesson I could tell that she was in good hands. Erica has a high standard and encourages that in every lesson. Highly recommend her
Erica is a fantastic teacher who takes time to get to know the student and what works best for them. I have grown so much as a violinist with her as me teacher. I would highly recommend her!
Erica is a talented violinist and instructor, and my child absolutely adores her! Erica has made music fun, and that is a gift to us. She is patient, thorough and flexible. We are so happy we found her!
