About Silvia

Hello,

My name is Silvia Bordes, I am a very passionate person. I have been playing tennis since I was 4 years old and competing since I was 8. I am originally from Spain but came to the US almost 4 years ago to pursue a college degree at the same time as competing to the highest level with the UCF women's tennis team. Unfortunately, due to an injury, I had to make one of the hardest decisions and had to stop competing. For my students I am willing to help them improve their tennis level as well as their physical and mental strength.

I have experience coaching to all levels and ages. Before coming to the US I was ranked number 36 in the country (Spain) and in the top 5 of my age. I was runner-up in the doubles national championship in Spain. With UCF we were conference champions as well as we got to play the NCAA championship for the two years in a row. I played as number 4, 5, and 6 for the team in singles and number 2 in doubles.

I love sharing my passion for this sport with other players so I decided to start coaching. I first started with younger players and work my way up to adults.

I have been practicing tennis for the last 18 years and competing for 12. Also, I have experience as a coach with base and competition levels and with ages going from 4 to adult.

Knowing the level of the student is very important as well as their goals. I always like to have a meeting before starting the lessons so we can get together and talk about different aspects.

As I mentioned, I have worked with beginner students as well as with competition students with ages between 4 to adults.

It is very important to make sure both student and coach are on the same page when it comes to the goals. Also, it is important that the students work with somebody that makes them feel comfortable and the number 1 priority.

Their goals, how many days they want to practice, where do they want to have the lessons.
