About Benjamin

Hearing a student flow into smooth sentences after a few weeks of practice is the best part of working as a language tutor.

By identifying your specific language goals, and working toward it together, we will make you feel ready to explore all that Spanish or Portuguese have to offer!

I started teaching as an ESL (English as a second language) instructor in college. I loved how I could make classes both informative and engaging. Most classes ended with everyone laughing about some topic. I learned then how fun languages, and language learning can be.

I speak spanish non-native fluently. I have studied spanish for over 10 years, and lived in Spanish speaking countries for a total of 10 months.

I speak Portuguese at an advanced level. And am currently on a 3 month trip in Brazil. I have studied for two years, using Spanish as a bridge to portuguese.

About the lesson

We start by getting to know each other and identifying your specific goals in the language. I always try to build lessons around what you feel already helps you- whether that's TV, Harry Potter, grammar or music. I'm happy to go through homework with you, and always leave time for questions. Tutoring should be a fun and accessible version of class, so that's what I try to make it.
