About Jose Antonio

24 year IT professional with international experience dealing in English and Spanish.

Born into a household of Spanish speakers, Jose DeLeon has the expertise to guide you through conversational, educational, business, and formal Spanish writing and speaking.

Teaching Spanish gives me the opportunity to see someone grow in their language. It is very rewarding to see the progress.

I hold a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (Prelaw)

I am a member of faculty at the Indiana University teaching a diverse student body in the school of Business and Economics.

I started teaching in 1992 when I was given the opportunity to teach religion.

I hold a B.A. in Liberal Studies (Pre-law). I also hold a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Public Affairs. I have taught technology and business courses on site in Mexico. I also have 10 years of experience teaching religion to Spanish speakers.

About the lesson

If the student is a minor, I start with a conversation with parents to set the time expectations and go over the terms of my service.

I like to start with a 15 minute session to understand the student's goals. From this session, I create several outcomes and assign dates for reaching these outcomes. The plan shows the underpinning tactics that we will implement to ensure success.

I have taught Spanish-speaking students on site in Mexico. The content was technical and business-related. I was also a corporate trainer teaching adults in a classroom setting, and at industry conferences. I was a bible teacher to Spanish-speaking church congregates between the ages of 13 and over 80.

Trust your gut. Choosing a teacher is not easy because you won’t know the extent of expertise solely via information in a profile. Ask for a call to get a feel for the instructor before engaging with them.

I recently presented a study at a professional conference in the adverse impact to 6-year Black and Latino students when compared to their White peers.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Most teachers are active listeners. Know that they will hear you out and answer your questions to understand you before they delve into your learning needs.
