About Jenna

Hello! I am an experienced Spanish teacher. I have taught Spanish for 4+ years. I also have been a Spanish tutor in the past.

I learned Spanish in Argentina when I lived there for a year and a half. I would love to help you or your child improve their Spanish skills for whatever reason. I love teaching Spanish. It is such a fun language to learn, to teach, and to speak.

I have always been drawn to Spanish. I really wanted to learn it as a kid. I took 4 years of Spanish in high school, but did not really learn the language until I lived in a Spanish speaking country. Teaching Spanish has been a wonderful way to continue using the language locally.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish that I received in 2016. Before receiving my BA in Spanish, I lived in Argentina for a year and a half. I have experience tutoring, and years of experience teaching Spanish 1010 and 1020 (beginning Spanish courses) at a local university.

About the lesson

First, I will gauge the students experience with the language. If this is the students first exposure to Spanish then we will begin by learning key phrases. If the student has some experience with the language, then we will start from there and move forward.

I aim to speak mostly Spanish with my students. My goal is for my students to become conversational Spanish speakers, meaning they can carry on a conversation with others. I am also happy to focus on other areas such as essay writing, reading, etc.

I have worked mostly with college students.

Make sure you find someone who you aren't afraid to make mistakes around. You will make many, many mistakes when learning a second language, and that is perfectly normal.

When a child learns their first language, they make many mistakes and it isn't unitl they are 4 or 5 that they really start to get a good hold on the language. Learning a second language is not that much different.

I am fond of any time that I get to spend with my family.
