About Gary

I am committed to teaching the skills needed to be successful in the music industry of today, whether it be on stage such as musical theatre, concert, cabaret or in the recording studio. I coach all skills needed by the performer such as technique, acting and performance skills. How to get through an audition successfully and get the desired role. I cover everything including proper attire suggestions for success. I have almost 30 years experience as a Musical Director and have done 95 Broadway shows. I have been nominated for Best Musical Director for a Robby Award in Los Angeles. I have worked with many celebrities such as: Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Gene Wilder, Christine Lahti, Joan Jett, Lynn Whitfield, Thelma Huston, Elvira and many others both on stage and in movies. I have written several hit songs for artists and for movies and been music coordinator for several of the movies that I coached the actors for and I own my own publishing company. I have produced many recordings for my clients and am a very skilled pianist, arranger and writer and can orchestrate and record tracks in the proper key for the performer. My goal is to make my clients successful. It’s a great feeling to help someone reach there goals and find their success.

I enjoy every facet of my work and love a good challenge to work with someone new that is enthusiastic about learning to be the best that they can. I don’t give up easily on anyone that puts in the hard work it takes to succeed in this business. There are so many talented people out there and so much competition but with hard work and good guidance anything is possible.

I have been working with singers, dancers and actors that wish to sing for over 45 years with a very successful vocal coaching career in Los Angeles for 32 years.

About the lesson

I start with a short evaluation of the clients current ability and what their goals are. I will scale them for vocal range and technique.

Details

My pricing all depends on the amount of time that a client is able to work. I charge a dollar a minute for standard work. I do charge for recordings that I make for the client and I also charge to make special arrangements that are personalized for the client.
