I engage in a dialogue with any new student about their interests, level of experience, and personal expectations when it comes to singing. From there, we would vocalize to find an idea of where the students voice lies comfortably.
Even if it is not myself, I encourage all who are interested in taking up voice lessons to find someone you are comfortable with. Someone who listens and takes note of your wants and needs.
