About Emilie
I have over a decade of professional experience as a singer. I am crossing over into teaching now that the epidemic has limited my performance opportunities. I have worked in all kinds of genres with all kinds of people. I'm used to needing to adapt to different styles and different limitations.
The people. I love working with people one on one. I enjoy watching someone grow as a singer.
And the art. I am an artist, and though much of singing is about technique, it is also art. So, you are always an artist when working with me. The world needs us.
I first started as a ballet teacher in high school, then a tutor during college, and the vocal captain working professionally. Teaching runs in my family, it's just what we do :)
I have a BFA in music theater from the Boston Conservaotry.
My high school before that had a music program that was granted Grammys while I attended.
I have been working professionally as a singer for over a decade.

When we have a first lesson, discuss what you want to work on.
Usually, we have a warm up, work on breath and posture, matching pitches, some music theory will be discussed. Then I like to work on a song or two you are interested in. Everything depends on where YOU are.
