Jennifer is by far the most amazing instructor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is not only very intelligent, but kind as well. While working with Jennifer, I not only learned the anatomy of song but the anatomy of voice. She taught me confidence and how to provoke emotion and it was always done with a smile! She is always willing to answer questions and really takes pride in the success of her students. You can tell she loves what she does. My experience was one I will never forget. Jennifer Is an amazing musician, teacher, and human being. It has been a pleasure to know her and learn from her.

She is very good at assessing the student's abilities, which made lessons fun and challenging. She has a great skill to relate to people. She is very enthusiast and makes the student want to learn. Very highly recommend her.

I had a very positive experience, I was rehearsing for solo and ensemble and Mrs. Calhoun was very kind and helpful. She let me work in my comfort zone for the first run, and encouraged me to try it from memory when she noticed I didn't really need the lyrics in front of me. Her kindness didn't falter when I messed up, and she had wonderful constructive criticism, making sure to note what I did well, and mentioning what I could improve on. She took the time to explain why I would mess up where I did, and gave me detailed pointers to help me improve. She let me use her equipment to record my voice, and when we listened to it together, she pointed out things to listen for when I recorded myself at home, and how to improve those things. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I left feeling much more confidant about my abilities than when I came in.

Working with her has always been an amazing and beneficial experience. I've sung many different styles of music for her over the years ranging from musical theatre to classical and she always has terrific notes and advice for each piece I sing. Not only does she tell you what to work on but, she gives every piece of information you need to correct it. You are not only learning how to fix it but why and what muscles you are using to fix it (which gives you a better understanding of your voice overall). Lastly, she is always her student's number one fan. She has had many students over the years and whether she spends more individualized time with a student or only gets to experience them in a full choir setting, she is always extremely supportive of every single person and will do whatever it takes to help them achieve any goal they may want to accomplish! :)
