About Jaleel

Saxophonist, composer, bandleader Jaleel Shaw has performed w/ Roy Haynes, Tom Harrell, the Mingus Big Band, Christian Mcbride, Roy Hargrove, Dave Holland, and more.

Shaw holds a dual Bachelor's degree in Music Education & Performance from the Berklee College of Music and a Masters degree in Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

Jaleel has held masterclasses around the world and taught at top Universities in the country, including Manhattan School of Music, and the New School

Virtual lessons explore saxophone technique & improvisation (for all instruments).

I received my dual Bachelors degree in Music Education & Performance from Berklee College of Music and a Master's Degree from Manhattan School of Music.

I'm currently on faculty at the Manhattan School of Music and have taught at the New School, Temple University, and Long Island University.

About the lesson

I begin with assessing the students level. From there, we will work on developing tone, concepts to develop technical, learn repertoire, and ideas and toold for improvisation.
