About John

We learn and grow best when we are in a relative balance of challenge and support, and in reflective relationship with a guide, mentor or coach. We also need to connect our growth with what matters most to us. Humans are creatures that need meaning and value, and we improve our lives when we

clearly see where we are, what tools we have, where we want to go, and what tools, awareness and relationships we need to get there.

Life-long learning and growth makes for the richest life. Helping people lead better lives is my passion and privilege. I delight in supporting and witnessing people as they develop new skills and knowledge. With growth comes both discomfort and joy, and I value being present with and for people as they empower themselves with the growth and change they desire.

I have a B.A. in English and Writing, am a certified Integral Life Coach and YNAB budgeting coach. I am also an ecological horticulturist and provide coaching for relationship with nature and climate change stress.

I come from a family of teachers, including my father. I found my way to coaching naturally, as I discovered a knack for mentoring people through life and habit changes in my spiritual community. From there I decided to get formal training in non-denominational coaching that is focused on lasting developmental growth, so that my clients can stand on their own experience and success from our work together.

About the lesson

First, I want to know who you are. What are your learning goals are and why do they matter to you? What motivates you to study and practice? What kind of support best serves you?

Second, we will set key goals, and the basic steps to walk toward them together.

All along, we check in. How is it going? What is working best? What do we need to adjust?

And we celebrate every win, small or large.

Adults from all walks of life, and internationally.

Find one with whom you feel comfortable, who seeks to understand you and your uniqueness, and creates a joyful, supportive learning atmosphere.

I moved from one state to another to be near my aging parents, to support them and bring them joy. It was a major life change, and demonstrates my dedication to being supportive of people.
