About Silvio

Hello, welcome to my profile! My name is Silvio, nice to meet you! I'm an italian piano teacher and concert pianist with 15 years of experience. Since I started playing the piano, at age 10, I've been passionate about music, and I would love to pass on my huge passion for playing the piano to you!

I hold a Master's degree in Music in both piano performance and as a jazz arranger. For the past 25 years, I have been teaching piano lessons at several music schools in London (UK), in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) and also in my country, in Italy.

As of now, 2024, I'm available full-time for private online piano lessons. I speak fluent English, Spanish and italian, so I can teach in all of these languages.

As a piano teacher, I have extensive experience with students of all ages and levels, as well as different music styles.

Furthermore, I won prizes in several piano competitions in Italy, and attended masterclasses with Robert Durso, Andrea Padova, François-Joël Thiollier, Aldona Budrewicz Jacobson and Enrico Pieranunzi.

I would describe myself as someone how is friendly, patient, organized, efficient, flexible and passionate about music.

A student’s natural way to learn is to experience first, then learn the name for what is experienced. Anxious or frustrated learning comes about when a new stimulus is introduced too fast, or when many stimuli gang up against the student’s comfort level and ability to process the information. Ironically, we can make music without knowing the note names! So the process of reading music must unfold in a natural manner.

My teaching approach allows all pupils to make and enjoy their music independently. Ultimately, people can only learn if they teach themselves and the teacher is simply the means to that end.

I never stop learning and always study how to teach better and how to play better, encouraging his pupils to see how much fun learning is.

My students have embraced the opportunity to be empowered to practise rather than pressed to do so.

I believe that my passion for piano, my extensive knowledge and experience as a piano teacher and concert pianist, combined with my excellent communication skills and my inspiring teaching style, are some of the key ingredients of great piano teaching.

About the lesson

Piano lessons offered by Silvio are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in West Miami. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
