Music education has always been a passionate and integral part of my life, growing up with a family owned music school, learning the inner workings of how a community music school is operated, as well as the importance of music education from an early age. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the weekly progress, growth and joy emanating from my students!
I got started substitute teaching through my family owned music school when I was in high school. Half-way through college I began teaching group classes and private lessons via various outreach programs throughout NYC.
I've been teaching professionally for almost ten years, including writing my own curriculums and formulating my own teaching methods and eductional programs. Through the years I've completed several training courses but mostly have learned and observed from my own amazing teachers. I hold a BM in Jazz Violin Performance from Manhattan School of Music making me well equiped to teach jazz string lessons which is indeed my forte. Student success includes admission into Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory, New School of Jazz, USC, Miami Frost, Oberlin, LaGuardia High School, Special Music School, NYSSMA, High School Jazz Academy, ISO, YoungArts Merit Award, and more.
