About Edward

I am one of the very few instructors of chord-style piano -- the way professional musicians play. Chord-style piano is much faster and easier to learn than the traditional/classical method. Learn how to play your favorite songs in weeks instead of years.

I share the gift of music to adults who missed the opportunity to learn piano when they were young.

I'm a perfect example of what can be accomplished through the chord teaching method. With no prior piano instruction, and no other musical background, I attended a pop-chord workshop, and six weeks later was able to play a simple version of “The Entertainer” on my keyboard. It should also be noted that I was 53 years old when I began and was working a minimum of 50 hours/week. I retired from my government job in 2006.

Since that first workshop, I've enthusiastically pursued my love of piano. About four years later, I began playing at the Methodist Hospital in northwest Houston as a volunteer at lunchtime, and professionally at several senior and assisted living apartments throughout the Houston area. I now have an extensive repertoire of songs (more than 100) that I play without the aid of sheet music.

Although I do not have a Master's Degree in music (BS Bus Admin), I have been playing as a professional musician and teaching adult students since 2009.

About the lesson

I teach students how to play chord-style piano, which is much easier and faster to learn than the tradional/classical method. The traditional method takes 6-7 years to learn. I can teach you to play a simple version of any song, any style (except classical) in 6 or 7 weeks. After that, you go on to learn how to play your favorite songs, instead of having to play moldy old public domain songs that the music store instructor insists you must learn.
