About Riana
An 18 year old who has played classical piano for 10+ years, I have a lot of experience regarding performance, practice, the learning process, and music theory. My schedule is very flexible, and I am open to teaching people of all ages! From absolute beginners, to those starting to play intermediate-advanced pieces, I hope to instill proper technique and musicianship- but most importantly, a lasting love of music.
I have studied under several different piano instructors, and always have had a deep admiration for their love of music. I was inspired by how much they love teaching and the wonderful things that come from it- and now I hope to do the same!
I have been classically trained on the piano for the last 15 years. In that time, I have participated in many performances, and also took AP Music Theory in my sophomore year of high school. Having just graduated high school, in the fall I will be pursuing a Music Therapy degree from the Berklee College of Music.

First, I like to learn about a student's skill level and interest in playing the piano. Are they looking to take a more serious route, or just looking to learn the basics?
From there, I can better develop a plan with the student that will help them maximize their musical growth.
In March 2017, I traveled to Italy with my high school choir.
We allowed to perform a private recital in the Sistine Chapel, and it was the most incredible moment of my life. Standing under this breathtaking, unbelievable artwork; along with the people who had made my life so full and beautiful; singing songs that had so much meaning to me; I have never experienced something so powerful and meaningful in my life.
