About Daniel

I specialize in capturing the essence of my subjects. I teach how to do that. Plus a wide range of photographic services: Studio and location lighting, Lightroom, Photoshop, managing images, engaging and posing subjects...you get it.

I love people. I love to teach.

I've been a professional photographer for over 40 years. I had a studio in NYC for 20 of those. Currently in Santa Fe, I'm available for small classes and private tutorials.

I have taught all levels from grade school to phd's. I'm very patient with students. Taught at college level too. I love to blow people's minds with new suggestions that hadn't thought about before. I know I can make your experience one of wonder and enjoyment.

I've been teaching photography since i was a teenager on Long Island, teaching at a local art school. Then in college I ran the photograph department when both photo teachers went on sabatical. I had 150 students. Darkroom, shooting, etc.

I've been a commercial photographer first in NYC for 20 years and now in Santa Fe for 14 years.

About the lesson

I find out what you want to learn and set up a schedule for a class either in my studio, on location or in your home/office.

College graduates, teen agers and adults of all ages.

I recently photographed a man from Cameroon who painted his entire body while I photographed him. The symbols he painted were used in his life to heal from trauma he received from being tortured as a political prisoner in Cameroon. It was an honor to be allowed into his private world.

Then I photographed two women models the other day. Using Red Organza they wrapped each other up and I photographed them together. so much fun.
