About Kaitlyn
I tailor my planning and implementation of lessons to the students' capabilities, preferences, learning styles, and goals. I never use a one size fits all approach. The student is the driver and I am the navigator and power source of the vehicle.
I enjoy seeing people's lightbulbs go off, and interacting with students while teaching the subjects I am most passionate about. I enjoy helping students learn to love languages just as my teachers helped me to do when I was in school.
I have a bachelors degree in French and Italian, a masters degree in secondary education, and a 6th year in TESOL. Paired with over 13 years of experience in middle school, high school,and adult education, I have experienced all types of learners with all types of goals, and am motivated to see each one find success.

When working witha new student, I first use some basic questioning strategies in the target language, working from novice level and progressing in order to gauge the student's profile check level. We then talk about goals as well as strengths and weaknesses to identify areas of focus. I also like to discuss learning preferences in order to best find ways to help the student to achieve his or her goals.
