About Susan
As a former Broadway performer, I teach not only proper vocal technique but performance technique as well. Students will learn how to properly breathe and support, increase their range, open their throats, improve their vocal agility as well as "act the song". I teach all different styles of singing, including but not limited to, musical theatre, pop, jazz, r&b and classical. I also help students pick new material, prepare for auditions and coach their performances. In addition to starring on Broadway (I originated the role of Sandy in the Broadway revival of "Grease", played Evelyn Nesbit in "Ragtime" and did numerous National Tours, including "Grand Hotel" and "Chess"), I have also sung with Meatloaf on his "Welcome to the Neighborhood" album. I have extensive credits as an actress in both television and film and continue to work consistently. I teach all over the country via Zoom (or FaceTime) and if you're in the area, come on by to my studio! I love watching my students grow, gain confidence and discover new parts of their voices they didn't even know they have!
I have been singing since the age of 8 and have worked with some of the best voice teachers in the business, including celebrity coach, Eric Vetro and the beloved Michael Sartor, who is sadly no longer with us. I majored in drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and studied with worked with renowned acting coach, Howard Fine.

The first part of the lesson, we will work on proper technique while running scales and warming up. We will then pick a song or two and get to work on implementing that technique into the song. Lastly, we will work on performance delivery.
