About Tamina

As a native English and French speaker with 8+ years' experience tutoring , I understand the challenges many face around learning French. I have supported over 20 students - of all ages and levels: young people revising for their GCSEs, A Levels, IB, and Scottish Highers, university students, and retirees who want to pick up a new skill!
Lessons are entirely adapted to each person, tailored to their goals and needs. I pride myself on building a rapport with each student, making lessons engaging and fruitful.

About the lesson

Lessons can be online and in-person, lasting 1h each.
During our first meeting, I ascertain students' needs, strengths/weaknesses, etc. I work flexibly, proposing certain approaches (tried and tested with previous students), but also shift to what suits each person. No 2 lessons are the same, but equally I am happy to rehash particularly sticky topics as many times as needed.

My experience spans broad conversation lessons, using a shared document to note-take and unpick grammar/vocabulary points, as well as particular preparation leading up to exams. I build and expand on students' school materials, bringing in my own expertise and experience of language/literature exams. My own school/university specialisation in literature especially enables me to support students to develop their analytical skills in a foreign language.

Perfect! The lessons are based on my expressed needs and conducted in a relaxed but professional manner. we mainly focus on conversational skills and grammar when needed. she also provides French dialogues to study during the week so I am prepared for my next lesson.
