I am certified in Middle Grades Math and Social Studies, and I teach AVID a college and career readiness elective

Building a relationship first! Get to know them, their learning style, their feelings about a subject, ask about their successes and struggles then I share the same with them to make sure we build a comfortable academically inclined rapport
I have worked with all kinds of students from Gifted individuals who need a push forward beyond what is needed in the standard classroom and low achieving students who need extra support to ensure learning occurs.
I have also taught mono-lingual Spanish speaking students as I am bilingual myself and can assist with the learning if English
Don't just hire someone that is the most qualified on paper but also someone who can provide the right support you need. I can be the best mathematician of all time but if don't understand what your needs are I may still not be able to help you! Hire someone who is capable but also you are comfortable with
