About Ryan
Hello! My name is Ryan Kim and I'm a freshman at the University of Washington. In 7th grade I really struggled in math so my mom and I got set up with a tutor. She helped me dig into the concepts and really helped me understand what I was doing. Starting in 8th grade, I began to do really well in math, falling more and more in love with tougher high school subjects. I hope to carry out my skills and become a high school Calculus teacher.
I'm always really patient and my biggest goal is to help the student understand and hopefully come to love the subject just like me. I can teach a range from basic arithmetic to college calculus, the typical route of math being taught in school.

I personally started teaching because my school offered free student-to-student tutoring in the library after school. I was able to tutor multiple levels of math there and really liked being personal with the student, and with honest feedback, really helpful and good at explaining.
I have graduated from high school and have completed Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calc, Calc AB, BC and multivariable calculus. Please contact me if you want to do SAT Math.

Communicating the students schedule and working on related problems to determine his/her level. Then working out a tutoring schedule and preparing material each session to explain/challenge the student in their area of math. However it will be all in good fun and hopefully successful results out of it!
I have mainly worked with high school students, but I'm also knowledgeable in middle school subjects as well. I am open to working with younger kids in learning addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
I won't take any offense if we establish a tutoring schedule and then you change your mind about having me as a tutor, so a huge piece of advice I could give is to try me out and see if I'm a good fit!
One recent event I am fond of are the SpaceX launches. I want to also pursue a Astronautical Engineering degree and be on the SpaceX mission control team.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should reflect on what problems they struggled on either currently or in the past. If they are confused or curious about the subject or problem, ask it!

Perfect! Ryan was really nice and flexible with my schedule. He was able to explain things to me well, even explaining some concepts the professor hadn't taught yet. He was also really patient with me which I appreciated because math is really hard for me. I recommend him for math tutoring, he helped me get through some really tough precalculus concepts!
