About Marlaina
Hi there! I am a licensed Secondary Mathematics Teacher (grades 7-12) in the state of OH and I have been tutoring students since I was even in high school. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Mount Union where I tutored students both privately and was a tutor for the university for 4 years. I have experience tutoring all age levels as well as just about every mathematics course there is. Credentials and more background information available upon request. I currently teach Algebra I and Geometry, but have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, and Trigonometry previously. I have also tutored just about every math course there is, including pre-calc, calc, and more upper level courses. My schedule is pretty open in the summer - I am happy and willing to work with you and meet your educational needs. Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions!

I am currently offering online tutoring. I have experience using multiple platforms, but typically stick to Zoom. Contact me and we will set up days/times and pricing/payment. Once hired, I will ask you to provide me with some background on what you are working on/want to work on and we will set some goals that we would like to accomplish. My tutoring approach is completely accommodating to your needs. We will work on material together until I feel you can work out some problems on your own (and provide support where necessary). I can help you prep for an upcoming exam, review/reteach, help with homework/assignments, etc. Practice, practice, practice is the key to math and that’s what I’m here to help you do!

Details
I charge $40/hour per student. My credentials are available upon request, like I’ve previously stated I am a high school math teacher! You are paying for one-on-one quality time addressed to your learning needs. Typically sessions are done an hour at a time, however I am willing to work with you on sessions/pricing to fit your needs.
