Personal Glory Tutoring achieves academic and intellectual stimulation built from its base of empathy and personalization.
The opportunity to work with eager students and getting to know each individual is the best part of my job. Having fun is the easiest, and often most effective way of learning challenging concepts. Being able to approach tangible and intangible problems in various ways with eager students is the most engaging aspect of tutoring.
As a Collegium V Honors Student and Academic Excellence Scholar at the University of Texas at Dallas, I have had countless opportunities and training directly developing my tutoring services. I have served as a Teaching Assistant for over 2 years and through that position, I have helped over 150 students with various problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and content interest. Through numerous review and training sessions, I have been able to lecture concepts to over 100 students at a time and have had office hours in which I catered to student questions one-on-one.
Additionally, I am employed as a Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) Leader at the University of Texas at Dallas Campus and work with the Student Success Center to offer training sessions to students struggling with various concepts in Math and Physics. This program has refined the content and skills needed for my tutoring services and I am prepared to serve countless students in need of assistance.

Generally, my first sessions working with new students consist of understanding each student on a personal level. Getting to know the person behind the student allows me to enhance the quality of my tutoring and cater my services to each individualized needs. After understanding each student in-depth, I generally administer some practice problems to gauge the distinct learning levels and paces of each student. By establishing a solid base of where each student is, I can then refine my approach as required.
Be careful! A lot of tutors are in this business for the money! I know this because growing up, my parents were fortunate enough to hire tutors, but I never gained anything from those tutoring sessions simply because the tutors were not interested in my success, but were in it for the money.
It is completely acceptable to try trial sessions for each tutor before hiring a permanent tutor.
