About Shadab

I am excited about helping middle school and high school students acheive their academic goals and establish opportunities for higher education and beyond. I enjoy hands on application of all of the science/ mathmatical studies I had in college. It is fullfilling to have had positions that are challenging and require learning in the field of STEM.

By taking an analytical approach, I diagnose underlying deficiencies and remediate them while progressing with the current material and building confidence. I am very insightful when it comes to understanding the student’s thought process; I then adapt the lesson to student needs.

I keep parents informed by following each session with a note detailing session activity, assignments, observations and recommendations.

I use a variety of methods from hands on activities to technology to help students figure out and understand the concepts. I have taught math in so many different ways and so many different courses that I have a huge amount of resources to draw from and wont waste time trying to figure out what to do. I find one on one tutoring the most effective and fun part of teaching. Nothing is as rewarding as working one-on-one with a student and seeing them improve or meet their goal.

I am a Professional Engineer who is interested in helping students in STEM related subjects. I also hava a passion to help students prepare for ACT/SAT and college entrance applications. If you agree that my approach is sound and will help your student be their very best, please reach out.

I encourage the student to take the lead and be responsible for his learning and subject matter understanding. Then, we’re off and running. And we have some fun while we’re at it.

I have a Graduate Degree in Computer Engineering and a Master's Degree in Information System and Security. Along with 10+ years of professional working experiance in related filed.

About the lesson

When working with a new student I like to look over a sample of their work or do a pre-assessment/survey of areas of need. I also believe building a trusting relationship is most important. I want to make sure the student is getting what they want and need to be successful and retain the concepts. I ask a lot of open-ended questions to probe for issues, attitude, strengths and weaknesses in subject matter, study habits, personal organization and test-taking skills. I will generally start by reviewing a recent test, quiz or homework. I use this exercise to assess current skill status. I encourage the student to take the lead and be responsible for his learning and subject matter understanding.
