About Matthew

My name is Matthew Lopez, and I’m excited to share a bit about my background with you. I’ve spent over 18 years working in education, starting as a classroom teacher and eventually serving as a principal. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects, from elementary math and English Language Arts to high school courses like Pre-Calculus, AP English, AP Physics, and AP U.S. History.

I firmly believe that everyone is capable of learning; it’s simply a matter of finding the right approach that works for each student. My goal is to meet learners where they are, tailoring my teaching style to help them grasp difficult concepts in a way that makes sense to them. One of my greatest joys is seeing students grow, not just in their grades, but in their confidence and mastery of the subjects I teach. I take great pride in showing tangible improvements in my students’ understanding and academic performance.

I look forward to working together and helping my students reach their full potential!

When I first met with him I had a hard even explaining where I was struggling, but he was able to pinpoint where I was having trouble, and was patient with me the entire time. Rather than just showing me the answer, he took the time to walk me through the process in a way that I understood. Would 100% recommend him to anyone needing some help.
