About Peter

We strive to assist struggling students who are often working part time jobs and do not have time to go to a session but still need to learn the material to succeed.

I enjoy when a student has an "Aha!" Moment and not only understands the topic through the lens of the question, but also goes on to solve other similar questions. I find a lot of pleasure in helping people who struggle or say phrases like "I can't do math" break through their stigmas and leave tutoring with a better understanding of what they struggled with and more confidence in their ability to deal with it.

I began teaching as an after school coordinator for the St. Johnsbury School District before advancing to tutoring college students in mathematics.

My educational training is a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Northern Vermont University. During my undergraduate track, I was an in-class tutor as well as hosting one on one walk in sessions during the day for the tutoring center and in the evening for the mathematics department. I have experience tutoring topics such as college algebra, discrete mathematics, finite mathematics, statistics, precalculus, and calculus.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student involves asking a few questions about their mathematical abilities to gauge where they are comfortable and where they need support. Some questions involve what class they're in or if there's a question or a set of topics specifically they're having difficulty with, or if they just want regular support when completing math assignments to boost their confidence in their work.

Prices are negotiable depending on difficulty and duration of tutoring.

Algebra/Finite Math: 16.50 per hour, 15 per hour for a 3 hour session

Statistics/Discrete Math: 20.00 per hour, 17 per hour for a 3 hour session

Precalculus/Calculus: 22.50 per hour, 20 per hour for a 3 hour session
