I help parents:
-nurture their children's confidence, independence, and self-reliance through personalized Growth Plans.
-confidently engage with school work and homework - what to say, and how to say it!
-support executive functioning skills.
-shift the status quo at home from chaotic and frenzied to calm, purposeful, and fun.
I knew I wanted to work with kids from a young age!
I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology because I love learning how the mind works and processes information.
I went on to receive my Masters in Childhood and Special Education from NYU to begin my journey in the classroom. I have worked in a variety of special education and general education settings in New York City and New Jersey, and now enjoy working one-on-one with students.
I have over a decade of experience teaching in public schools in New York City and New Jersey. I received my Masters in Childhood and Special Education from NYU. I absolutely love working with kids one-on-one and helping them reach their highest potential!

1. After you reach out, we will set up a free 15-20 minute consultation so I can get to know you and your child's needs. I will also have you complete a short questionaiire.
2. After our initial consultation, I conduct an asessment to determine exactly what your child is struggling with so I can develop a customized learning plan to suit their needs. I create a learning plan tailored to each child - their strengths, needs, interests, and challenges.
3. We then determine the most appropriate schedule and get started! I am continuously monitoring progress and adjusting the plan as needed.
In the classroom, I worked as a 4th grade Special Education teacher in a collaborative co-teaching environment. I then worked as an ELA/math teacher for 4th and 5th grade students in a resource room. I also taught general education Kindergarten for a number of years. I now work 1:1 with students in PreKindergarten-Fifth grade in reading, writing, and math. I've worked with homeschoolers as well as students in traditional or distance learning environments.
I would advise a parent to seek a tutor that teaches the whole child and takes into consideration their strengths, challenges, and interests when putting together a learning plan. A tutor who puts together a customized plan - unique to your child - is always better than a cookie-cutter approach. I would also look for someone who forms a genuine connection with their students.
Working 1:1 with students and watching their confidence soar with the amount of individualized attention I can provide has been the absolute best experience. I recently worked with a student who was so nervous to talk about the books we were reading together when we first began our sessions. She came to me shy, nervous, and unwilling to take many risks during our lessons. Now, 6 weeks later, she is volunteering her own thoughts and ideas, without prompting, about the plot, theme, and character changes. I'm so proud of her and the progress she has made in such a short time.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. How do you customized instruction for your students?
2. What tools do you use to close the learning gap?
3. How do you ensure your students are making progress?
4. What do you provide for additional support outside of lessons?

Perfect! Meghan has been working with our daughter for nearly a year and has helped her make tremendous strides, after she struggled with the transition from Kindergarten to first grade and more recently, to a new school and school district. In concert with her teachers, Meghan has worked with our daughter, helping her to build confidence, by providing her with the tools and strategies she needed to overcome those aspects of reading and writing with which she has struggled the most. Meghan provides detailed lesson notes, regular assessments and has been flexible with scheduling and updating, or modifying goals, as needed. We feel very lucky to have found Meghan and would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an experienced and very talented tutor.

I found HomeBloom doing a google search for special education tutors. I came across them on this website and actually had a few other places contact me. The first thing that drew me to Meghan was her background in special education which was most critical to me based on my child's needs. I also loved that you had your various programs and prices on your website. Most places want to gather all the info from you and then they reach out to you. With cost also being a vital piece of information, I feel it best to be up front on pricing, so you know what you are getting into. Prior to my son working with Meghan, he was doing well but myself and his other therapists can only take him so far since none of us are actually educators. The main reason we were seeking a tutor was to point us in the right direction and Meghan has been great with that, discovering what he needs to work on next and helping us get him there. While my son could read, he did not like to read aloud or in front of others. He also was doing very basic addition only. Since working with Meghan, he has become more comfortable reading aloud and his math has definitely improved. He now can count, by 10's & 2's and getting better everyday. I would absolutely recommend HomeBloom tutoring services. I feel that the services are tailored to my son's strengths & weaknesses where he is improving on his strengths but also focusing on areas he is lacking in, to make great strides. With my son's autism & ADHD Meghan was able to keep his focus and attention and has learned how much she can push him without it turning into a meltdown where the entire session becomes a loss. Just like any child, he has good days and bad days and she has been great about seeing that and being able to adjust what she may work on that day, based on the feedback you may see from him.
Meghan at HomeBloom Education is a fantastic tutor! She understands the needs of each of the students that she works with and designs customized lessons that meets each of her student's unique needs and goals. She also finds ways to incorporate her student's interests into her lessons so that tutoring is fun, engaging, and a special time for each of her students. Meghan is extremely professional, punctual, and reliable and extremely knowledgeable about how to close the reading gap for students with a wide range of abilities. I can't recommend Meghan and HomeBloom Education enough!
Meghan (Homebloomed) is absolutely wonderful. We feel incredibly blessed to have Meghan as a teacher (homeschool) for our 11.5 year old daughter Olivia. Olivia has learned so much with her lessons daily. Meghan’s approach is warm, structured and very personalized with Olivia’s likes and needs. We decided to have Olivia homeschooled until she is fully vaccinated. She is not looking forward to going back to school because she feels Meghan is the best teacher she’s ever had. She has a wonderful connection with Meghan. Olivia is motivated and ready to learn with Megan as her teacher. We are truly blessed to have found Homebloomed when we did. Again, I can’t say enough about Meghan. From a concerned about everything going on in our world and wanting the best for your child, this was one decision we feel has been the best. I can reach out to Meghan about Olivia and she gets right back to me. Always.
I can just keep going on.
Thank You!
Kristin (Bedminster, NJ)
Meghan was incredibly helpful with providing strategies to keep my daughter motivated and engaged in school. It really shows how experienced she is teaching children and knowledgeable about what works to keep them interested and excited about learning. I would recommend Meghan to any family looking for extra structure and support for their children throughout the year. It was also great for me as a parent to have someone that really understands.
Meghan helped us bridge the world between teacher and parent during a transitional period after a year of homeschooling (covid) and preparing to enter into a private school atmosphere. She was organized and explained things in a way only a trained teacher could. We now have a much better understanding of how to help her with her newly diagnosed dyslexia on a personal and educational level.
