About Derek
I am a graduating senior and will be entering my freshmen year at Pomona College. Mathematics is one of my favorite subjects on top of physics and Chinese. I have taken rigorous math courses throughout my high school, completing AP Calc BC and Post-Calc. Not only am I academically in good standing, I am also a Kumon Instructor (2 years of experience) and tutor at my school (4 years of experience), and I love problem solving with my students and watching them grow. I received the Questbridge National College Match Scholarship through Pomona College to major in Physics with a concentration in Astronomy. I was recognized by the American Statistical Association for my excellence in statistics at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science research competition.
