About Lauren
I have spent a large majority of my life working with children, often through after school nannying and homework help. I am pursuing a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education and have a passion for ensuring students truly enjoy learning. Education can be stressful and intimidating when comparing yourself to others, even from a young age. My goal is to allow students to exceed their own expectations and learn to take pride in their work and capabilities, allowing them to move forward in their education with confidence and excitement. Learning how to learn is often just as important as the information we are absorbing, and I aim to help make school easier for those who need a bit of extra support.

Most importantly, we establish a routine as soon as we begin working together. It's important that everyone, parents included, be on the same page. We lay out a schedule, goals, and topics of importance. Depending on the age of the student and the way they experience learning, different techniques are used to help them study better, work through homework problems, focus, and cope with frustration. I take a "whole person" approach that aims to figure out how a student thinks, processes, and explores the world. This helps to create a more targeted learning environment that sets them up for success.
I've been working with all age groups on homework help for over 12 years. As a full-time nanny, I have also implemented Montessori education-based routines to help teach the joy of learning from an early age. My passion has continued to grow over time and I am now pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I have worked with all kinds of learners, and have found myself enjoying working with students who have neurodevelopmental challenges.
