About Roberto
Sometimes students might see math equations and immediately get unmotivated. I try and learn about the student and the struggles they have in the subject and use topics they are strong in, in order to explain areas they aren't yet confident in.
Being a student aiming for a Minor in Mathematics, I've always liked math and find it a joy to make it through difficult topics with someone else.
I love seeing or hearing the "oooh" when someone finally understands something it shows that the student has made it to the point where it all makes sense and all the pieces come together.
Working with my classmates and my little cousins who needed a little help here and there, made me enjoy seeing their eyes light up as something that seemed like a complicated mess becomes a finished puzzle.
I also enjoy meeting new people and learning about how they see math or any other subject.
Being a computer person I've always helped my family and friends solve problems they find when working with applications. Doing this made me like seeing someone finally learn something that they have been struggling with for a while
I went on to help my little cousins in math and in science and helping my classmates if they needed any help with something I might have already finished, it was fun for me!
I'm currently attending college and pursuing a minor in math along with a major in Software Engineering.
With the classes that I am currently taking, I can confidently say I have a solid foundation in math and I can and want to share that with anyone who might be struggling.

Every student is different of course but at first, I always learn the topic at hand as well as possible so I can help as best I can
The next step is getting to know the student and their strengths and weaknesses so I can understand why they might be struggling on a topic
I try and use ties to real life and tricks that I used when I came across the same topic to help others. By understanding the student's abilities, I can let them grow by using their own strengths.
Anywhere from students who are 8 years old to classmates in college.
Always look for someone who can see your situation and adapt to it. Working with someone who just reads from a book or tells you the answer won't build up your ability, it just skips the learning altogether.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Try and find exactly what you're struggling with, not just "Math" or "Quadratic Equations". Explain what about math and what part of solving quadratic equations is tough for you. It will make the entire process much quicker so you can get to understanding the material, faster.
