About Paula
As a homeschool mom who left the professional teaching world to raise 4 kids, I have worked with kids of all ages and abilities and taught all subjects. I have an English degree with a certification in education as well as a Masters degree in General Education. I have graduated 2/4 of my own children who finished with Associates degrees and have moved onto 4 year schools.
I love kids and believe that all children are able to achieve goals they find to be important and am able to help them see WHY school goals are important to their future. Getting kids to taken ownership of their education, making the learning important to them, is key to their success. Teaching kids HOW to learn is even more important that what they subject is.
I would love the opportunity to work with you and your student to achieve theirnedication goals.
Being a teacher is the only career I ever considered. Children are so important and need all the help they can get to succeed in whatever path they choose. I love being a part of their process.
I have a Masters degree in education and have taught in various platforms for 23 years.

Getting to know the student and the parents is very important to the process of success in education. This allows everyone involved in the education team to be aware of expectations and what struggles need to be overcome.
I have worked with students of all personalities and abilities. When I taught in a public setting I had a reputation of being successful in connecting with students who struggle.
Students should look for a tutor who they connect with and are willing to allow the tutor to motivate and correct what is needed to allow the student to reach success. If the tutoring is only the parents idea and the student is not open to the opportunity the goals will be harder to reach.

She always communicates in clear and specific ways. Usually quite quickly after something is asked, but never taking away from class time or student attention. She is always patient with every question and concern. She would quickly sit down with me for a meeting if a longer conversation helped satisfy my inquiries. She is always so full of life and love for all who work with her. Absolutely wonderful to work with!
