About Guadalupe

Hello my name is Guadalupe Arredondo and I am a third college student at California State University Los Angeles. I have been tutoring for about 5 years now mainly with students in Elementary and Middle school, sometimes high school as well. I am passionate to be able to help students academically succed and to rnjoy their academic jounery.

I am proud to say that I am able to practice being an academic support for students everyday in my job. I work as a Teacher Assistant with elementary kids, when I work with the students: I test students to keep track of academic progress, tutor students that need more academic support such as Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Also I work closely with the English learner students, as I am bilingual in Spanish I translate the lessons to students and teach them English in reading, writing and speaking.

As I have stated before I am proud to be able to help students with their academic progress .

I am currently in my 3rd year of completing my bachelor’s degree, but I have experience in tutoring with K- 8 mainly for about 5 years. I have worked with some high school students as well. In my job as a teacher assistant I work with students every day to help them as an academic support.

About the lesson

Usually I like to get to know the student and know their strengths and see where they need more help. I like to ask them first where they need more help so we can spend more time practicing that topic.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Student should go over what they understand and once they do look over what they don’t comprehend . When they are getting ready to ask question, they should be able to explain what they need help in because they can say they need help in math but if they don’t specify. The tutor can start from the beginning in which instead they can use their time wisely in the certain topic the students need the help.

Details

Usually I charge $30-$45 an hour depending on the subject, but if the student wants a group of session; more than one I will give a multiple session pricing. It all depends the tutor service the student needs and the time they want to send in tutoring.
