About Mark
Thanks for being here..... let's get your math problem solved...
I am offering tutoring services specializing in Algebra, but will also be taking on clients in various math topics such as Arithmetic, Geometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, & Trigonometry. (Even possibly Chemistry, Physics, Finance, Accounting or any other subject that has a math involvement) Referrals are welcomed.
I strive to be extremely forthright about the whole process, and I genuinely look forward to helping people solve the problem in your life that is math. I take a simple but effective approach at a subject that can be made much easier, with the right help.
Thank you so much, I'd be glad to answer any preliminary questions, & I look forward to making your or someone you know's life easier!!!!
I realized I could make money off of something I enjoyed, and it was a no brainer.
I graduated at the Top of my High School class in 2015 and only ever got one B in Math ever, admittedly, and it was in Geometry (I didn't enjoy it as much as all the other math types) ; this includes Pre-Calc, and AP Calc.
At Temple University, I successfully completed Differential Calculus and Integral Calculus, and 2 levels of Statistics classes; as well as 2 levels of Accounting classes, a Finance class, and 2 levels of Chemistry, which all involve difficult math.
Also, a funny but relevant story, early in High School, when we took standardized testing and the results came in, our principal at the time announced I was the only student out of about 130 in my graduating class to get an Advanced Grade on the math section. I have always genuinely enjoyed anything involving numbers, even at that young age when you're not really thinking too much about grades.

Every student's learning style if different, and I strive to be conscious of that. However, most of the concepts in mathematics are rigid and do not change. For more basic subjects such as arithmetic and algebra, what matters most is practice. It's similar to any type of exercise, such that in the initial stages, there will be some discomfort, but the more you practice, the easier it will become. So you just have to get through that difficulty at the beginning, but rest assured knowing that the difficulty level will absolutely decrease, and I will teach you how to practice in a way that you are not wasting energy or time.
So with that being said, YOUR EFFORT IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONATE TO THE LEVEL OF SUCCESS YOU WILL REACH. I cannot take tests for you or do your homework for you, though I will be very patient and understanding of the discomforts involved in the initial learning process. Another very important element to success is STARTING THE WORK EARLY!! If you haven't conditioned your mind's muscle memory to the type of mathematics you're doing, then you'll be doing the difficult work too late, and you're bound to fail. There is a great quote that says "Do what is hard when it is easy, and it will become easy", and this is very relevant to learning math.
Regarding more difficult subjects like Pre-Calc, Calc, and Stats, there will be memorization involved. I will show you the exact things that you should memorize during the initial discomfort process, and then, from there, you'll be doing the exact same things you already know, practicing enough to get through the discomfort until you reach a point where you feel adequately conditioned for test taking. Math really can be easy, and I look forward to proving that to each of my clients.
I've only had a few clients so far, but I am in the process of expanding my business.
Some teachers aren't patient and do not respect students' learning styles. Further, some teachers just do it for a paycheck, which is sad. I pride myself in being a teacher that is personable, understanding, patient, and helpful in every session, in more ways than just getting good grades. Although grades are important, actually learning things is tremendously more valuable. NO QUESTION IS TOO STUPID TO ASK. I want you to feel comfortable to sift through any confusion in your mind, because the more you ask, the more you learn.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Refer back to my bio, as it is stated very nicely there. But most of the difficulty in math is a societal stigma. Embrace the inevitable discomfort at the beginning of the learning process, because it will go away. People don't like to do math because of what they've heard from others "I hate numbers" "it makes no sense" "I'm done high school, I'm done math". The world doesn't work like that. Sadly, you might be in an environment that makes you feel like math isn't cool to enjoy, but it truly, truly is. Every single person earns money, right? Money is numbers. To not understand them, or at least give a significant effort toward understanding them, is irresponsible as an adult who needs to manage finances. Math doesn't stop. Every commercial you see on TV is a specific marketing choice that involves how much attention a brand gets, and how much money they make. Granted these are all different forms of math, but regardless, it is quantitative analysis, and falls under the same umbrella. I genuinely look forward to helping you with your studies, and with building a groundwork to change negative perceptions on math, because it will help you for the rest of your life.
All the best,
Mark

Perfect! My Son has a hard time with math and feels that math is a difficult subject, but his tutor Mark explained things in a way that made sense. He is very patient and knowledgeable.
We look forward to continuing sessions with Mark. I highly recommend!Perfect! Very helpful and is always open to move around your schedule. Even if you can't meet on your time he still finds the way to get the work done in a organized way to make you understand the material.
Perfect! Highly recommend Mark! We’ve been working with Mark for 3 months now and he’s done an extremely impressive job increasing our son’s overall confidence and comprehension of Algebra 1. Mark is not only knowledgeable and professional - his patient and engaging teaching style helped him to better relate and “win over” our teenage son (no easy task!). Thank you Mark, for your dedication and commitment to helping us grow Jack’s overall study skills and comprehension of Algebra. We look forward to working with you again next school year!
