About Letty

I love to help students who have been struggling develop skills and obtain tools to succeed in their academic career. I can evaluate where you student stands as far as their content knowledge and help to come up with a plan to get them where they need and want to be. I am able teach concepts for the first time, reteach concepts they've heard at school, create curriculum for them to practice with, work with any materials-homework-classwork that they may have.

I have worked with students in both the public and private school sector. I have worked with students one to one as well as whole classroom as I am degreed educator. I love Math and Science! I enjoy teaching and learning and I want to help students enjoy learning too. I love when a student who has been struggling had a "Ah-ha" moment. I also love the happiness and pride that my students get once they earn the A or the B they have been wanting for a long time.

While obtaining my Associates Of Science degree at Lone Star College I began leading group study groups. I found that I not only retained the material much better by teaching it, I also loved teaching others. It was then that I decided to work towards a teaching degree.

I have an Associates Of Science degree from Lone Star College and a Bachelor's of Science on education with a minor in Mathematics and Science from Sam Houston State University. I have been tutoring students since 2013. I have been a Substitute teacher in 2 Texas school districts as well as 1 private school in Texas. I have worked with students as a private tutor from grades 1st to college. I have taught in 2 a districts in Texas.

About the lesson

I will take a look at where a student currently sits with regard to current content knowledge. Then I will see what is the specific need the student has. I will work with them on material they have and material that I have and can create that relates to the content they need to master. Repition is essential to learning. I will figure out which tools work best with each specific student and I will use them to teach your child the content. For online sessions I use a digital white board that is shareable on the app we will be doing our sessions through.
