About Abigail

While I was still in high school I had no interest in the world of mathematics whatsoever, but as soon as I was settled into my class my professor had inspired me to do my very best every day! Now, I really enjoy doing math for fun! I often come across students that hate math because they do not understand it, but once you have learned the processes it becomes a lot more enjoyable.

I have a long history of helping out my fellow classmates get in the right mindset about math and evidently have ended up helping them bring up their math scores in the process. The first place to start is all mental preparation and then comes the learning.

I have completed my high school requirements along with my associate's degree at the same time. I have completed my college mathematics all the way up until Calculus (which is still in the process for me this semester).

I have passed all the math classes I have ever taken with a B+ or higher.

I enjoy being able to introduce a new enjoyment of math into students' education. It's a required subject and so if you're going to have to do it anyway might as well enjoy it as well. I enjoy math so much I am willing to keep doing it even after all my necessary college courses.

About the lesson

1) I get to know their attitude around math and what they struggle with the most. Often times students have a very simple solution to fix the "domino effect" of struggles throughout the lessons.

2) Then we would go over the homework problems for the sections that need the most attention. We would also possibly make any studying material necessary for them to meet any standards of the class (formulas, process, basic math, etc.)

3) I will set up a review document for them to go over and questions of my own for them to answer or explain to me. It helps students to also teach their teachers or tutors the process that they are learning.

4) I would then see the progress of the student and modify anything to amplify anything that will aid in the student's success. It really depends on how much the student is willing to work as well so it becomes easier to adapt to a learning style that works best for them.

5) Then we celebrate the student's success and a newfound love for mathematics.
