I first started teaching as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uganda and I am now a 6th grade math teacher while working towards my masters in education at JHU.

- I have an undergraduate degree in Finance and Sports Marketing from Duquesne University.

- I've spent 3+ years working in sales/consulting.

- I taught entrepreneurship, math and business in Uganda for two years.

- I am currently teaching 6th grade math and enrolled in a masters in education program at Johns Hopkins University.

About the lesson

- Get to know the students and their interests, form trust.

- Take an assessment of the student's current skill level, using some type of written assessment to collect data

- Create fun, engaging, lesson plans to get the student excited for the next lesson.

I have worked with international students ages 8-30, students with special needs and middle school to high school aged students.

My son Jacob who is in 5th grade was struggling with math homework and online learning that he had to do for school (specifically fractions and division). Scott was very patient with my son, and gave him new strategies for solving problems, and helped guide his thinking through each problem by breaking it up into small digestible parts. He catered to my sons learning style and was very helpful. Jacob loves learning with Scott and actually looks forward to his tutoring sessions. Couldn’t ask for a better tutor 10/10 recommended.

With Covid, the ability to get her in person tutoring was no longer on the table, and I needed to find a different route. Thank god I found Scott and this website.
