About Joy

I have been a math teacher for 35 years. I have worked with students at all levels from 1st grade through Algebra II. I love teaching math! I have Florida certification to teach all levels through Algebra. I have worked with many students throughout the years in a tutorial fashion to help them get from where they are to where they need to be. I have online and in person experience.

I have always wanted to teach since I was a small child.  I went college and got a BA in education and started teaching right out of college.  I have since added a masters degree in education as well. I have tutored many students throughout the years and enjoy working one to one so I can really focus on the needs of the child.



I have a masters degree in education and have been teaching for the past 35 years.

I start by seeing what they know and where they need to be.  I then look at the time frame we have to make it happen and break down the sessions accordingly.



I have tutored all ages from first grade to Algebra students.



Find someone who is knowledgeable so that they can give you options. I find options are necessary to help students who are struggling find the one that speaks to them.  This will build their confidence and help them to succeed.  



This past summer I helped a young man complete Algebra I so that he could get into the program he wanted in high school.  We were able to complete his program a week earlier than he needed to!
